Do you know that on Monday, August 1, 2022, the Buhari administration commenced the construction of the new Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Development Institute (AMEDI) in Lafiya the Nassarawa State capital?
The groundbreaking and foundation laying was done by the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari alongside the Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna whose agency will supervise the project.
The Buhari administration has conceived this new Institute as a step towards building a platform on which modern agricultural machinery will be developed locally to assist farmers get them cheaply. The institute will be building Made-in-Nigeria equipment for cultivation, planting, weeding, harvesting and food preservation.
