The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) received in audience, a delegation from Visa Inc, an American multinational financial services corporation led by the Chairman, Alfred F. Kelly on a working visit.
The Visa team was at the Communications and Digital Economy Complex, Abuja to brief the Minister about their activities and also explore areas of collaboration.
Mr Kelly informed the Nigerian Digital Economy Minister about Visa’s proposed projects and programmes for Nigeria which include
1. To establish its first Data Centre in Africa which will be in Nigeria;
2. To build an Engineering Centre in Nigeria to support the technological ecosystem of the country;
3. Internship Opportunities for Nigerians with a view of up-skilling more youths of the country; &
4. Visa Everywhere Initiative 2022.
Mr Kelly also extended an invitation to Minister Pantami to serve as a judge during the Visa Everywhere Initiative, a global innovation program that tasks start-ups to solve the payment challenges of tomorrow.
