Worried by how erosion is increasingly cutting away the perimeter of the Pategi General Hospital in Kwara State, do you know that the Buhari administration has flagged-off the construction of drainages and a dyke in the town to stem the problem?
The project, which will be executed by the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) was flagged-off by the Managing Director of the Commission, Dr Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa on Thursday, August 25, 2022, and it is expected to cost about N212m.
As an infrastructural project, it has already engaged several youths as workers in the town thus making it an economically beneficial development for residents of the area. And when completed, gully erosion will no longer threaten the town’s landscape.
