In its continuous war against poverty, do you know that the Buhari administration has commenced payments of N20,000 monthly cash grants to poor people in Borno State, with 7,264 persons paid at once?
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadia Umar Farouq flagged-off the payments by herself in Maiduguri the state capital on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, and the beneficiaries were drawn from all the Local Government Areas of the State.
Forming part of the administration’s National Social Investment Programmes, these payments, which is also referred to as Conditional Cash Transfer, will help these poor citizens to begin some small ventures that could grow to pull them out of poverty.
